Who We Are
Stan’s Donuts & Coffee serves up freshly made donuts of extraordinary flavors and textures and an excellent cup of joe. In 1963, Stan Berman opened his eponymous donut shop in Los Angeles, continuing a generations-long family tradition of baking. His donuts quickly became legendary in the Los Angeles area. Meanwhile, in Chicago, Rich Labriola followed a passion for all things bread to create one of the most renowned bakeries in the Chicago area from the ground up. After seeing Stan on a travel show, Rich reached out to Stan and the two became friends over their shared passion. The friendship turned into a partnership as Stan passed the torch to Rich, who opened the first Stan’s Donuts & Coffee in Chicago in 2014 with his own recipes inspired by Stan’s classics.  We are looking for a General Manager to oversee all team members, budgets and operations of the local food service business unit. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader, a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise. This role works in a fast paced environment. Your drive and passion will ultimately help our company grow and thrive.

General Manager Key Responsibilities
Our General Managers wear a lot of hats. In order to achieve success, we have broken down your key responsibilities in order to make the job easier. See below for examples of each:

  • STANtastic Customer Service
    • Active management on the floor, greeting guests and meeting customer needs. Guest facing- interacting and serving guests as needed (70% active managing, 30% administrative).
  •  Leading Team and Succession Planning:
    •  Ensure Team Members work productively and develop professionally. Oversee recruitment, training of new employees, and managing performance
  • Team Happiness:
    •  Actively looking to engage with Team Members in order to create a fun culture that they enjoy. Reacts promptly to Team concerns or questions. Rewards and recognizes outstanding Team Members.
  • Amazing STANdards:
    • Adheres to policies and processes- ensures Team Members are completing checklists in line with our brand standards. Ensure Team Members follow health and safety regulations.
  • Driving Your Business
    •  Maintain budgets on sales, waste, and labor. Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors) Ensures ordering is completed and pars in line with sales volume. Actively manages inventory, making sure that all items are in stock in the shop and resolves any potential out of stock issues before they arise
  • Communication:
    •  Prepare regular reports for upper management on sales, waste and labor. Provides details in a timely manner regarding any Team Member issues or R&M needs.
