Green City Market at the Park presented by Crate and Barrel

Bring your bags and shop local at Green City Market presented by Crate and Barrel select Thursday evenings at the Park. As Chicago’s premier farmers market with locations in Lincoln Park and the West Loop, Green City Market brings locally-sourced, farmer-driven goods to the Park at Wrigley — including many of Green City’s staples like seasonal fruits, veggies, prepared food and more. Stop by to shop, taste, see chef demonstrations and bring the neighborhood together to support local, sustainably grown food from family farms.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., top Chicago-area chefs demonstrate recipes using seasonal and sustainable ingredients from market vendors. These approachable cooking demonstrations provide inspiration and guidance for how to cook with market ingredients in your own home.

CLUB SPROUTS

The Club Sprouts table offers fun, seasonal activities and lessons, from produce-inspired arts and crafts to scavenger hunts to hands-on recipes, so children can learn the benefits of eating healthy ingredients and supporting local farms. Children are given the opportunity to taste an in-season market item and receive a stamp on their Club Sprouts membership card. Once the card is filled the child takes home a certificate of accomplishment and a special prize.

Green City Market not only accepts but matches the value of Link benefits (formerly known as food stamps) dollar-for-dollar up to $15 per market day. By making benefit dollars go farther, Green City Market's matching program increases the access and affordability of fresh, nutritious foods and provides more opportunities for local farmers to make a living wage.

COMPOST

Green City Market is committed to creating a more sustainable Chicago by diverting waste headed for landfills and partners with local composters to process the local, organic waste produced at the Market back into nutrient-rich energy for increasing soil health and community urban farming. Green City Market also offers a home compost drop off, allowing you to further help transform food waste by bringing in waste produced at home.
